Pension Credit
What is it, and who can claim? 

• Guaranteed Pension Credit - is a benefit for those on a low income. 

• Rates = 
  • Single Person - £238.00 per week
  • Couple             - £363.25 per week

If your Private and State Pension when added together are less than the amount above you may be able to claim the difference as Pension Credit.

Example:  Jane only has the State Pension, receiving £138 weekly, she lives alone and has £10,000 in savings.  If Jane applied she should receive an extra £100 per week.  

The Pension Credit Rates above may be increased if you are in receipt of a disability benefit, so please contact us so we can advise you, as there are several factors to consider.

If you have a partner or spouse and live together, you must both be State Pension age to be eligible to apply for Pension Credit.
